Shaun Thomas (Tullakool)

For CY24 and CY25, Shaun Thomas hosted the WMV Focus Site on his farm at Tullakool. Having laser levelled the selected paddock ahead of CY25 it presented an opportunity for the Reference Group to find methods to limit the soil structural constraints during CY25 crop establishment.

The WMV Reference Group meet regularly throughout each crop season making decisions on best approaches to paddock preparation, sowing, weed, water and nitrogen management ahead of drainage and harvest.

On Shaun’s farm, numerous strategies were trialed to test how adaptable management can improve profitability, even during less-than-optimal conditions.
